In Nature: The White Mountains
Sometimes you just need to get away from it all.
Last weekend that is just what we did.
We met some friends up in North Conway, NH. It should only be 3 hours from our house in Scituate, but the journey took us 6 1/2. We were saying we could have flown to London in that time. In any event, traffic or not, the trip was so worth it.
On Saturday we spent the whole day at Storyland.
This place is so magical and my little guys loved it. Conor enjoyed driving for the first time. You remember those antique cars?!?
I used to love them too. So he took the wheel and giggled all the way.
Our favorite ride was Bamboo Shoots and we went on it a couple of times.
The boys really loved Storyland and were so sad to leave when it closed.
The next day we stopped at the Cider Mill Store for lunch and it was a-maz-ing! We also enjoyed the apple cider donuts. I wish I could package up that delicious cinnamon and apple smell for my own home.
From there we hiked up to Diana’s Baths and it was absolutely gorgeous.
Fresh water water was rushing down the mountainside into little pools. Our kids loved playing in the water.
It was crystal clear and gorgeous. The cold water and the fresh smelling pine. Well, it was just what I needed to clear my head.
There was a hole that the water had created in the rocks and you could jump down into. I think it went about 10ft!
Then there was a beautiful natural water-slide and we laughed ourselves silly going down it again…
and again…
It was a truly relaxing weekend with friends.
How have you been spending your summer?!?
What a beautiful area! Looks like your kiddos had a blast! It’s so nice to get away sometimes. Me, I went to WA and escaped the heat for a few days. Loved Mt. Rainier.
Nice way to spend the weekend, Danielle! Spending time in nature really refreshes your soul, doesn’t it? Looks like your kids had a ball.
looks like you had an amazing time!

Thanks, Lauren, we did have an amazing time! x
Danielle,
What a very beautiful place you visited. The water was so clean and clear. Love seeing the kids sliding down the rocks to the water. Very happy and very cute. For the summer we have been just waiting for our home to get started. via Cloches and Lavender.

I’ve traveled the world and I have to say, there is something so wonderful about the White Mountains. They should get more props than what they are given.
They are so beautiful. We love them each time we go up there! x
