Introducing Ink Harbour Illustrations and Our New Online Shop
Wow! That was a mouthful. I’m so excited to introduce you to Ink Harbour Illustrations and Our New Online Shop!
Meet my son, John!
You guys have all watched him grow up and I’m so excited to help him launch his company, Ink Harbour Illustrations. John has always seen things slightly differently than other children and always found comfort in drawing. I remember back when he was 3, he drew a toucan and I thought he’d traced it, only to find out he drew it. It looked just like the toucan from the book he was looking at.
John created the logo for his business. Ink because he loves to draw and harbour because we live in Scituate Harbor and the spelling plays into his English heritage.
I am so proud of John, even though he’s 13 he’s an amazingly gifted artist. He was inspired by our trip to California and began drawing these abstract landscapes:
Aren’t they stunning?!? We decided it would be fun to set up an online shop to share John’s artwork but also share my own. We’ve been very busy behind the scenes setting up the shop, drawing, painting, and folding cards.
In our shop you’ll find boxed note card sets, single note cards, and metal prints. Soon to come will be posters and perhaps some apparel. We’re also thinking of adding gift tags and more paper products.
I’ve always, always loved cards and stationery. I remember at a very young age having my own personalized letters and envelopes and felt very grown up. I LOVE writing cards and thought you guys might as well. Here’s a selection of some of the things in our shop.
Boxed Note Card Sets
Single Cards
Winter Favorites
These are available as boxed sets or individual cards – perfect for gifts, Christmas cards, or thank you cards after the holidays.
Metal Prints
John’s working on a few more winter and holiday designs which we’ll be adding very soon, as well as some posters.
Are there any designs or things you’d love to see? If there are any previous watercolors I’ve created that you’d love as single cards or note card sets please let us know.
We’re so very excited about launching our very own shop! We’d love you to stop by and check it out.
If you’re local, stop by Kjeld Mahoney Photography at Kennedy’s Country Gardens for some of our designs.
Congratulations!! It sounds very exciting. Good luck!
Thank you, Diane. We’re very excited about this new venture.
How gifted is he – just love his work and look forward to seeing him develop. x
I love his work, too. He has about 9 sketch books under his bed full of illustrations. I love looking at all of them.
Wow! You’re both so talented. And I love John’s entrepreneurial spirit!
I guess the entrepreneurial spirit is from my parents. They ran a successful restaurant in a colonial mansion for 10 years when I was growing up. 😉
Congratulations to you and John! The artwork is beautiful! I love the name of your business and all the meaning behind each word. So clever! You are all so creative – you and John with your art, Conor with his cooking and Luke’s carpentry and woodworking skills. Good luck in this new venture!
Isn’t his artwork beautiful? Your comment made me laugh. I guess in time we could host an open house catered by Conor. Ha! Ha!
I love it and love what John is creating. He’s got some serious talent which looks like he gets from his Mom. xo
Thank you, Ellen. The talent is all his own but I’m so glad he’s happy to now share his artwork. I know it can be scary.
Wow!!! Can’t believe how grown up John looks. He was just a wee lad not long ago!! How exciting that he is doing something he loves and he is good at it…..I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I too, dabble in art. It is my first love. AND John and I share the same birthday. Wishing him much success in his adventure.
Oh, Josette, what a lovely comment. Art is so good for the soul. Doing it just makes one feel so much better. Thank you for your lovely comments on our new adventure!
So excited to see his talent… very nice John. I love your Ink Harbour logo with the little boat too. So cool to have your family behind you… and all of us! ♥️🌊
Caren, this brought tears to my eyes. Happy tears. It’s so lovely to think of all of you at home cheering John on as well. Thank you. xx
I LOVE the logo John created!! Congratulations to you both!
Thank you, Donna. I love his logo, too. Isn’t it so lovely?
WOW! you must be so proud- congrats to John!!!
Thanks, Cassie! xx
Hi….do you have cards or note pads with the tug boat logo? My husband is a tug boat captain and I love the logo! Thanks.
Hi Rhonda, We don’t have any notepads or cards with the tug boat, but more and more people are requesting this as a card so I’ll try and convince my son. I do have a post card with his logo which we send with orders of John’s art!
