Introducing the Lobster Collection
I’m so excited for this post! Today I’m introducing the Lobster Collection!

You can shop the full lobster collection here. I can’t tell you how long I’ve wanted to add a lobster to the mix! Lobsters are a New England classic! During the summer months, well, actually all year around we love lobster rolls.
As many of you know, I grew up here in New England and I just really wanted a classic lobster illustration. I plan on turning this into a pattern too. So wallpaper and fabric will be coming soon.

I can’t tell you how many lobsters I’ve attempted over the years. This is my 4th this summer, but something clicked and I think I got it!
You can see painting one here on reels. I still wasn’t 100% happy with that one.
I thought I’d give it one more go and here’s the results.
In progress:

I start with a pencil sketch and then I work in section. I like to wet the paper and apply paint while it’s wet. This is known as “wet on wet” technique. I love how the paint dances across the paper and it just feels so free. Then I go in and refine it adding details and applying darker shades of paint. Earlier this year I discovered Pyrrol Scarlet and I love using it with other paints in my little lobster. Shop more of my watercolor and art favorites here.
Here’s how he came out:
