Introducing Watercolor Whales & More
Happy 1st day of March! I couldn’t think of a better day to share some new watercolors with you! Today I’m introducing you to watercolor whales and more!
When I paint and create I feel a lightness in life. It’s almost like meditation. Lately, I find myself reaching for watercolors more and more as I read the headlines and watch the news. I know my painting and artwork won’t change the world, but maybe it will bring a bit of joy.
I’ve been busy in our little sunroom. I spent January and February really focusing on new skills and painting. Many of you have been asking for Minot Lighthouse – I painted three versions and other coastal inspired things!
This collection is very personal. I tapped into my own loves and hope you find it special too.
What’s in the New Collection?
In this new collection, we’ve added 6 new notepad designs and lots more note cards (sets and singles) plus framed and unframed art prints. You’ll find three whales, two whale sharks, watercolor flags, three versions of Minot Lighthouse, a vintage bottle with coral, a seascape heart, and a model boat! Phew. You can see the shop here.
Why You’ll Love This New Collection
- Whimsical
- Light and bright and perfect for the coastal lover!
- Each sale we donate to World Wildlife Fund
A Little Peek Of New Items
Just in time for Easter, we’ve added the bunny watercolor print as a notepad. I thought these would be sweet for hostess gifts with mini eggs and wine OR sweet tucked into Easter baskets! Our notepads are 50 pages and are great for shopping lists or to use as stationery.
I so enjoyed painting these whales and whale sharks. All are available as prints, framed prints, and note cards. Some are available in notepads. I couldn’t help but think they’d look sweet in a nursery or playroom.
You’ve all been requesting Minot Lighthouse! I actually painted three versions (more if I don’t count my rejection pile) and asked you all what your favorite was. I have two versions as cards and one version as a notepad, all available as prints.
Watercolor Flags and Our Veterans
My watercolor flags appeared on note cards sent to Scituate Veterans as part of a Veteran’s Celebration by Scituate Community Christmas last November. I was honored that my painting helped express our gratitude but I wanted to do more…
I decided I would offer this painting in the online shop with a portion of a sales to be donated to Scituate Veterans.
This print is available as the following:
FAQ – Answering Your Questions
I actually wrote a post all about this. You can see it here.
Currently, no, but I’m thinking about adding some workshops (perhaps in our yard this summer). Let me know in the comments or via email if this is something you’d be interested in. I also try and share tutorials on my blog, you can see watercolor tutorials here.
I’m so proud of the thickness of our notecard and envelope stock. The weight is 130# Cover/352 GSM. It’s archival, acid free, elemental chlorine free, and made of 30% recycled content.
We have partnered with Simply Framed for the printing of our art prints. They are printed on high quality watercolor paper and all frames are custom made to order.
Giving back is so important to me and my family. We donate a portion of every sale to World Wildlife Fund, even our wholesale orders. In addition we donated to Scituate Community Christmas as part of our Scituate Open Studio and will be donating to Scituate Veterans with every sale of our watercolor flags.
All of our items come gift wrap. I package each item and wrap the note cards and notepads in tissue paper with twine.
We sell in our online shop and also offer a selection of stationery at Joye in Scituate Harbor, Buttonwood Books in Cohasset, Board143 in North Scituate, and Scout Vintage on the Cape. We’re planning to add more retail locations this year. We will also be doing open studios this year to sell original art.

More Big Dreams
I just started an Immersion course with Bonnie Christine to learn surface pattern design. It’s my dream to turn my watercolors into wallpaper, wrapping paper, fabric, and other home decor items. So stay tuned for all of that – hopefully coming soon!

Hi Danielle!!! Oh!! You have been a busy girl! Those whales and sharks are perrfection. So perfect to sell in shops at your seaside area. I would love to take a class in your backyard!! Getting there might be a bit of trouble though! haha I am so glad you mentioned all the “ones you had to ditch” …it is where I am now. I too, have a heart for the veterans. They often get a bum deal and sacrificed so much for our freedoms. Your flag notecards are a touching gift for them. You have come so far so… Read more »
Hi Josette, I’m so glad you like the new whales and sharks and like the idea of painting in my backyard 😉 I know it would be too far for you. Yes, I’m ALWAYS making ‘mistakes’ in painting and learning from them. Always trying to learn more and get better. So excited I can help support our veterans through my art. I first picked up a watercolor brush when Conor started kindergarten so it’s been 8 years but I think the thing that is helping the most is making time to paint and get better. Thank you for your kind… Read more »
