Let’s Have a Parade
Here on the Irish Riviera, the St. Patrick’s Day parade is a BIG deal!
Huge, in fact.
Residents and tourists alike line the streets to cheer on the parade. We have clowns, marching bands, veterans, soldiers, bagpipes (which always bring tears to my eyes), beautiful floats and lots of green!
It is a Scituate tradition, one we look forward to every year. We go to the parade every year and now that we live in the harbor we can walk down the hill to see it.
To give you an idea of what the parade is like, you can see the entire parade here in two minutes:

The parade costs money to put on and each year there is a run for Mayor to raise funds. The mayor position is honorary and in good fun to make money for the parade. This year my friend Kjeld is running and he has his first FUN-draiser tonight at the Mill Wharf for any local friends who are interested in helping support the parade. In fact you don’t have to be local to enter the raffle.
Tonight at the Mill Wharf from 5:30 ’til closing there will be Pizza, Music, Drinks, Raffles, a Photo Booth and some good fun! Stop by for 10 minutes or a few hours! Kids are welcome too. We’re bringing John and Conor!
I’m honored to be raffling off this pretty nightstand “Emma”:
Emma is a gorgeous nightstand possibly from the 1930s painted in gorgeous lamp black. She has beautiful ball and claw feet and pretty pulls. She’d be stunning in any home. Here’s a closer up view:
She is just one of the many fabulous prizes on offer for just the purchase of a raffle ticket. To give you an idea of the other amazing prizes:
