Merry Christmas from Our Family (2017)
It’s been one amazing year and I wanted to wish you Merry Christmas from our family!
It really means so much to me that you take time to read this blog and I so enjoy your lovely comments and emails. Knowing that you come here seeking some creativity and inspiration (or just to pop in and see what’s going on with us) really warms my heart. I wanted to tell you just how much you guys mean to me. I feel so lucky that I get to share my life here by the sea with you.
My life is more than I could have ever hoped for.
These lovely boys and lovely dogs really make life what’s it’s meant to be.
They bring hugs and kisses
Laughter
Commedy
Lots of Opinions
and most, importantly, Love.
If you’ve been reading for some time then you’ll see just how big my “little” boys have grown. John is nearly my height! I say he has one more inch to go. I started the blog when Conor was 2 and now he’s 8. Time certainly flies by.
Over the weekend we took the boys and dogs to A.J. McEachern Memorial Trail in Scituate. It isn’t far from our home. The views of the marsh are spectacular.
But the most amazing thing this time of year is people go into the woods and decorate trees for Christmas. It’s so magical and heartwarming to find decorated trees in nature.
Some only have one ornament. You can see Poppy in the background here.
There were lots of trees and lots of dogs.
Doesn’t this one remind you of Charlie Brown?
A bit further along we were greeted by these gorgeous birch trees.
Then we came up to a view of the marsh and the spit.
It’s always hard to get a good photo, one where everyone is looking at the camera. The dogs are looking but John is not…
Good one of us but not the dogs.
Oh, well.
Wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I hope it brings you joy, love and happiness. The blog will be quiet for the week but I might pop in to say hi and post occasionally on social media too.
My only wish for Christmas was more time with my guys. Our big plans are:
Walks in the Woods
Playing Board Games
Going out for Breakfast one morning
Going to the Georgia O’Keefe Exhibition at PEM
But mostly just staying home and relaxing
I hope you all get the chance to spend time with family and friends!
With love and good cheer from our family in Scituate to your family xx
Sounds like a great Christmas to me. Thank you for all the inspiration throughout the year.
Merry Christmas
What a great thing to do, decorate a tree the woods, instead of cutting a tree.
Don’t see this happening in DE.
Happy holidays
Merry Christmas and a very happy new year!!
Over the summer, my sister and I took a few Sunday morning walks (followed by lunch at Roht Marine :). A.J.M. Memorial Trail was always part of our walks. I forgot they did this at Christmas time! It looks like I’ll be heading down for a stroll! Thanks for sharing 🙂 I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a very relaxing week of family time! xo
Merry Christmas to you and your family! I’ve never seen anything like that. The decorated trees in nature is so beautiful. I may start that next year in a park where we take our dog for walks (by the way my dogs name is “Boston”). I love your blog and always look forward to it.
What a fun outing. I love how people go out and decorate the trees! Merry Christmas to you & your family!
Merry Christmas, Danielle! Wishing you and your family the best. Thanks for all of the lovely photos of Scituate, we miss it so much! xx
Had no idea had been so many years since I was fortunate to find your blog, have always enjoyed reading it, seeing photos of you and family, hearing about your adventures. Think first post I read was when your dog was sprayed or skunk got on your porch? Your boys are so big now, can remember little guys. They’ve grown so much as have our 2 grand daughters here, they were little kids when we moved here in 2004. Now youngest is senor in high school with college ahead of her. The oldest is junior in college now at Divinty… Read more »
