My Favorite Projects from Last Year
As a passionate DIY-er and a home enthusiast, I usually have one or two projects that makes my heart happy. They don’t always make the top 10 or top 20 (for that matter). Today I’m sharing my favorite projects from last year.
My Favorite Projects from 2020
Well, I thought we’d get more projects ticked off the list. Did you feel the same way? It was a year that we found comfort in being home together. The heart of our projects this year was making our home work for us while it became a school, an office, and our refuge. 2020 was the year we decided to swap rooms so the boys could enjoy having their own bedrooms. See more about that here.
This list isn’t in a particular order. You can read more about the post by clicking the image or title! If you want to see most popular posts from 2020, you can do so here.
Conor’s Bedroom Makeover
Conor was over the moon when he heard he could have his own room. I think my favorite project last year was creating this space for him. We worked hard painting the walls together and coming up with a style and decor that fit his personality and his love of the sea.
It’s become a great space for him to learn, rest, read, and play video games virtually with his friends! Max loves hanging out in there, too!
DIY Birds Nests
I am so inspired by nature and love finding ways to bring it inside our home. I had fun foraging our yard to make DIY Birds Nest.
How to Build a Paver Walkway
For years, I’ve dreamed of creating a little “secret garden” style pathway leading to our backyard and pool. Luke installed pavers to create this look. We planted various hydrangeas and transplanted peonies from the back garden. It’s a great weekend project and instantly adds curb appeal.
Favorite Outdoor Plants and Flowers
Speaking of plants, loved sharing my favorite outdoor plants. I’ve grown to love gardening and love experimenting in our yard. Planting your favorite flowers means you can clip them and bring them inside to enjoy!
Refreshing Paloma Cocktails
2020 was the year we discovered the Paloma cocktail! With no place to go we made these a lot to enjoy by the pool.
Favorite Colors with Dark Wood Trim
One of the things that made us fall in love with our home was the dark wood trim and period details. I get a lot of questions about paint colors to highlight wood trim. I shared my favorite neutral and bold colors to highlight dark wood trim.
How to Paint an Octopus Dresser (and transfer any image to furniture)
A vintage dresser got a fun coastal makeover with some chalk paint and a vintage image. In this post I share a step by step tutorial on how to transfer an image onto a piece of furniture. I included a video as well you might enjoy.
Well, those were my favorites from last year that didn’t make the top 20. As I write this I’m dreaming up some really fun project ideas for THIS year. Excited to share them with you soon!
