On Motherhood
On this Mother’s Day weekend, I want to take a little time to tell you about the two greatest gifts I’ve ever received. John & Conor.

Before they arrived I never realized just how much you could love two little people. They make me a better person! With them I love to:

There are so many things I love about them. Too many to limit to this blog post. I love John’s empathy and his warm, soulful eyes. I love his artistic side and his ability to make everyone laugh. I love Conor’s giggle – it is contagious – you can almost here it looking at the photo above. I love Conor’s golden curls and his blue, liquid filled eyes. I could stare into them for hours. I love that Conor enjoys a good rummage for treasure at antique stores (like I did when I was little).
Being a mom isn’t all blowing bubbles and holding sleeping babies. It is hard work. Really hard and I didn’t realize this until I had my own children. Growing up, I didn’t realize all those little things my mom did for me – the cooking, the cleaning, the cuddling and the conforting.

I’m now in my mid-30s and the funny thing is I still really need my mom. I call her every morning and she reads the blog every day. Her opinion, her praise, her wisdom – I still seek all of these. I still call my mom when:

I need help getting that stain out of the slipcover or when I need some advice on what to wear or how to make something. I’m not sure I’ll ever stop needing her. She’s my partner-in-crime, the president of my fan club and my co-pilot when we go on joyrides for antiques.
I’m so blessed to have my two sons and my mom. Happy Mother’s Day to all those moms out there, the world wouldn’t run as smoothly or be as fun without you! I love you, Mom!
What a great mom to look up too! Happy Mother’s day to you!!!

Happy Mother’s Day, Ali! x
I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, with the rest of your family and some great food.
Our Mother’s Day is in March and I’m not a mother anyway, but I’m still sitting here eating raspberry trifle – I’m afraid I didn’t make it though !!
