Open Studio, Giant Yard Sale & Painting Together
Oooooh, lots going on this weekend and coming week! Many of you have been asking when there will be an Open Studio again? I know, we haven’t done one for some time. Over a year, in fact, well the answer to that question is THIS Sunday!
I really love turning my home into a studio, but last year we did the Vintage Bazaar and an Antique Show. My favorite way to display my work is here at our home. You can see a previous Open Studio here.
BUT we’re not just having an Open Studio, oh, no, we’re also having a GIANT yard sale. I am not kidding you when I say half my basement is full of open studio and yard sale items. We have a very large basement just in case you were wondering.
I’ve also convinced my neighbors to join in on the fun!!!!
So I’d like to extend the invitation to attend this fun afternoon in our neighborhood. From 10am – 2pm you can find us!
** I’ve updated this to include a rain date. We’re currently getting a Nor’Easter so if the weather is inclement we’ll hold the yard sale and Open Studio the following week.**
The sale is on Allen Place in Scituate Harbor. Many homes are taking part. John and Conor are excited to have a lemonade stand and will also be selling toys and clothes. I have so much stuff. Here are a few items that will be in the Open Studio (and I’ll be sharing more this week).
Lila, a heavily distressed cabinet
Antique Dressing Table named Jenny
A Pair of Chairs Painted in Graphite with Gorgeous Annie Sloan Fabric
Beautiful antique mantel painted in Chalk Paint®
There’s so many more beautiful pieces available too: Dressers, tables, chairs, chalk board table (that was featured in BHG), mid century, shabby chic pieces, map page and music page wreaths, chalk boards, Silver Pennies T Shirts.
I’ve also decided to part with antiques from my collection. This is actually very, very hard for me. I love collecting things and everything seems to have a special meaning when I find it, but I’ll be parting with these chairs made in Spain:
I love them so much but just don’t have the right space for them right now. Sigh.
As well as four of these English antique chairs:
Many, many more antiques and vintage items from my stash too! As well as staging items used in shoots for Finding Silver Pennies. So if you see something you LOVE then you NEED to come by. I’ll be sharing more items on the blog this week!
As if that wasn’t exciting enough! I’m also teaching at the Little House of Arts next Friday, October 7th at 7pm. This is First Friday in Scituate Harbor and we’ll be doing a little Make & Take session. In the two hour class, we’ll create our own stenciled stationary:
We’ll also create fun frames in a coastal finish using Saltwash:
I’ve created fun coastal frames for the boys’ bedroom:
I love the texture it added to this Coastal Tray:
If you’d like to sign up for my class click here.
Both events are going to be so much fun! I know some of you guys are too far away but I’d love to see anyone who is close enough. It’s so fun seeing you guys in person.
Best of luck with your sale Danielle! Sounds like a festive time in your neighborhood this weekend, and it looks like you have some awesome stuff.
