Open Studio Highlights

First on the list is Luke.  My husband has been wonderful – helping me fill holes, repair furniture and drilling driftwood. Also, putting up with an overtired wife… Thank you, Luke.  To my little boys who have been so patient and helpful.  My parents who are always so supportive and are my cheering squad.To John, Mike and Rob for helping me move some very heavy pieces of furniture.

So I hung my sign on an old door I found in the basement  (the shade perfectly matches my logo) and waited…

I didn’t wait very long before people walked up my brick walk way and into my home. I wish I got more photos of everyone.  I only got one of my mom and I right before people arrived.  I was so busy wrapping ornaments, making change and chatting away.

It was so wonderful to catch up with friends, neighbors and blog followers.  Rebecca drove up from Rhode Island just to visit with me and see my work.  Rebecca, it was so wonderful chatting about paint and can’t wait to see you down at the Sea Rose Cottage later this month.

So here’s how it all looked!  When you walked in the entry you were greeted by this Scituate subway chest and the GIANT map page wreath.  I was up until 1am making this wreath when the Sox won the World Series. Ha! Ha!

The Talia Wine Table with fun Christmas gifts and banners:

Opposite the wine table was this rustic bench which I think would be perfect in a mudroom.  It has extra storage in the seat. The exterior is painted in Typewriter MMS Milk Paint and the interior is French Linen Chalk Paint®.

Here’s the Living Room which I outfitted as a kind of shop.  Everything was for sale (except our couch which I really would like to part with and our TV).

This Mabel Vanity and Mirror went home with little LuLu.  So, sorry the lighting isn’t a bit better… She was so excited about it and the little blue ball jar too.

My Grain Sack Dresser that I called “Owen” went home with Dan and Kristin, owners of Gentleman & Daughter Antiques.  He will be going in their guest room.

This vintage school desk and antique chair went home to be enjoyed by my friend Nicole’s small children:

The Ariel Dresser went home with, our friend and neighbor’s daughter, Leah.  I’ll be sharing a before & after of this one on Wednesday:

I sold out of driftwood trees, driftwood sailboats, signs and German glitter glass banners.  Looks like Poppy and I need to do some beach-combing this week!  My photo notecards were popular, as were the handpainted coasters and handmade ornaments.  I still have a few pieces of furniture left, so if you saw something you were interested in, or if you didn’t get a chance to come let me know.

Thank you all again for your continued love and support.  I feel so lucky to be able to share my life and my creativity with you.  I’m thinking I may do another open studio in the spring.
