A Paler Shade of Gray
So I couldn’t resist giving you a sneak peak of our bedroom. The color is beautiful. It reminds me of the soft downy feathers of the shore gulls, the the weathered cedar shingles of beachside homes and is a shade paler than the slate found in Cornwall (the county in England where Luke is from).
The day after we painted, I went in to clear up the drop clothes and paints. The sun’s rays were coming in just so, I had to take this photo to share it. The Seagull Gray paint from The Paint Exchange was so easy to use: soft, easy to spread on the walls and due to the low VOC no ‘paint’ odor. It oddly smelled a bit like mint. Best of all, it is eco-friendly because it is made from recycled paints.
We are so happy with the walls and trim. Our room just looks so much more fresh. Here it is:

What do you think of the color? We moved our furniture back in the other night and it was such a restful room to sleep in. So happy we finally painted our room after four years! Now, I can’t wait to share all the other projects we have planned for this room. But you are really going to have to wait for these as I still need to get all the elements together. I’ll give you a hint, though, it involves painted furniture and a rustic headboard. Can’t wait to share once everything is done! Happy Monday, everyone!
Well, grey IS my favorite color… I approve and love wholeheartedly. When I was younger and we moved into a new house my sisters and I each got to choose which color to paint our own bedrooms. Charlene opted for a bright purple, and Rachel for a bright yellow. It hurts to still think about how bright and cranky those colors looked up on their four walls. I thought my grey walls were so soft and cozy– each time I walked into that room it was like snuggling up with a warm blanket and I hope yours feels the same.
