Pool Progress – Pebble Finish and Water

Guys, I have some HUGE pool progress to share with you today! The pebble finish is done and the water is in the pool!

Our New Pool - Progress as the water and pebble finish went in - Finding Silver Pennies

If you follow along on Instagram then you got a sneak peek when I shared this photo 😉

Oh, I have to share that my friends at J.Jill sent me this lovely dress and cardigan. Both are super comfy if you’re looking to add a few summer items to your wardrobe.

I also gave you a peek of the color in Wednesday’s post when I shared these keto cocktails.

Isn’t the color of the water gorgeous?

We’d been dreaming of seeing the pool interior and the water in it and now it’s a reality. It really was so interesting to watch the whole process.

I actually made a little video:

So the crew from South Shore Gunite Pools arrived bright and early and the fencing crew was also here at the same time.

Applying the Pebble Finish Interior

The crew taped everything off and got set up. Then it was time to plaster the interior.

It was sprayed on similar to the gunite being done.

A lot of water was used in the smoothing process, so this box is what the plaster slurry went in.

The guys wore these shoes while applying the plaster.

The plaster was smoothed and rocks were thrown on top. Below you can see the stairs being done.Pool Steps Pebble Finish - Finding Silver Pennies

The crew worked quite quickly.Pool Progress - Finding Silver Pennies

Then you can see the stairs with the pebble finish:

The pebble finish was sprayed with water and then dried with blowers.

The pebble finish cured and then it was time to put the water in. We were so excited about that water arriving.

The truck brought two loads of water.

Conor couldn’t wait and he was the very first one in the pool!

He actually put his swimsuit on and swam while the pool was filling up.

We are so in love with our pool and the wonderful job South Shore Gunite has done on it.

The boys have been swimming quite a lot but I find it it too cold yet to go in.

Here you can see them enjoying the pool last weekend.

They made their own swan boat! Ha! Ha!

We still have quite a lot of work to do. The deck needs to be sealed still and then Luke and I will start spreading soil, planting grass and adding plants & patio furniture. 🙂 I’m really excited about all those bits.

Such a big project finally finished. It looks wonderful and I know you’ll thoroughly enjoy it…. if we ever get summer weather here in Massachusetts.
