Pretty Pastel Easter Tablescape
Pretty pastel shimmering eggs and lovely spring flowers are the foundation for my pretty pastel Easter tablescape.
Can you believe this is my first spring post of 2021? I know, I’m feeling so far behind….When I look at some other blogs.
The thing is I have just been in a bit of a funk creatively. I haven’t painted watercolors or done any flower arranging. I’m not really sure what’s wrong with me but I just haven’t felt that motivated to create, but then my mom gave me these beautiful Easter eggs by Shabby Chic. She found them at Marshalls. They are the foundation for my pastel Easter tablescape.

Then I noticed some violas and tulips at a local garden center and it got me thinking of Easter decor.
Here’s what I came up with. I’ll break down the centerpiece steps below.
The sweet little eggs remind me of the little foil ones my grandmother used to hide for me at her house. They’d be dotted EVERYWHERE – on the piano, nestled on side tables and tufted chairs. I used to squeal looking for them.
I got the table runner back in November from Afloral BUT I never used it. I was going to do a blush Thanksgiving tablescape with dried flowers. Oh, well. The runner works great for spring.
How to Make a Simple Easter Centerpiece
Materials
- Spring flowers – I used violas, tulips, and sweet alyssum as a filler
- Vintage ironstone bowl
- Soil
- Moss
Method
Step 1 – I like to start with the center and work my way out when arranging. I started by placing the tulips in the center and then filling in with some potting soil.
Step 2 – Plant violas and alyssum around the tulips. I try never to make it look too perfect. You want it to look like the arrangement is growing wild in the ironstone.
Step 3 – Water arrangement.
Step 4 – Place some moss and pretty pastel eggs on top for an added decorative element. Spanish moss also looks pretty.
I placed some extra flowers in other textured planters I had in the basement. I also placed a faux moss ribbon on the table to add to the fresh spring vibe.
I love using vintage ironstone as an unexpected vessel. It brings a little warmth to any table.
You may be wondering why I didn’t use fresh cut flowers…
Why Create a Live Floral Centerpiece
- I’d love to enjoy this arrangement throughout the weeks until Easter. Easter is a week and a half away. I think fresh cut tulips or other flowers might not last that long.
- I love to take the bulbs and plant them out in our garden after we’ve enjoyed them.
- I just think they add life to our dining table! I can’t wait to watch the tulips bloom.
What flowers should you use for a live arrangement?
There are no right and wrong flowers here. That’s what I love about creating tablescapes – anything goes.
I would recommend – using something that gives height, something that spills and something that thrills 😉
A few ideas for plants –
- Violas
- Tulips
- Pansies
- Daffodils
- Hyacinths
- Crocus
- Grape Hyacinths

Gold foil eggs take me right back to when I was 2 and 3 years old. 😉 I hope you have a beautiful Easter with your family, Josette. xx
