Simple Fall Outdoor Decor
Happy Columbus Day! I’m so glad you enjoyed our fall home tour last week! Thanks so much for all the nice words. I thought I’d share a few more shots of our outside decor.
It is very simple:
Our summer plants are still hanging on so I just bought some sea grass to add to them. I’ll be planting this out in the yard before the hard frost. I really love sea grass and how easy it is to maintain over the summer months. There are so many varieties and they really go with our seaside setting.
The wreath was from Home Goods two years ago and we used to have it in our guest room:
It brings a coastal element to our door and really goes with the pale blue door and our brass whale.
This is probably all the orange you’ll see around my house this year! It really isn’t a favorite color of mine (as you know I prefer neutrals and blues). But I couldn’t resist this perfect Cinderella pumpkin from Trader Joe’s.
The window boxes are filled with sugar pumpkins (also from Trader Joe’s) and a few faux ones that I sprayed gold.
It is simple and relaxed.
But that is how we like things around here.
The boys are getting very excited about raking, well more particularly about jumping piles of leaves, and we’re all very excited about Halloween. Come to think of it I need to get John’s costume sorted soon.
What about you? How are you decorating for fall? What are your plans for Halloween?
Thanks for stopping and hope you have an amazing Columbus Day with your families!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful home and all of the paint tutorials. I have been following your blog for quite awhile and have picked up lots of great information. I wonder if clear wax is a must-I really like the “chalk” finish for some pieces. I have waxed everything that I have painted but I am about to paint my dining table and chairs and I would love to leave them with the matte finish. I am afraid that I will be foregoing the protective element if I dont wax or use some type of sealer. Please share your thoughts… Read more »
i love the simple touches! i have a corn husk wreath in orange from homegoods, too, and i love it!
Looks so pretty, such a pretty house to decorate! That is a magazine-worthy picture of Poppy, such great color and expression in that shot.
