Simple Pleasures of October
Each morning we walk by this brook on the way to John’s school. The water feeds to the harbor and it truly is stunning; a picture perfect way to start the day.
Every day it looks just a little bit different.

Here in New England autumn is at its peak. The leaves are gorgeous – shimmering shades of green, brilliant hues of red and orange. Some trees almost look like they are burning in the sunshine, they are so vibrant.
We’re enjoying these precious moments in nature. Long walks with the boys –
Taking things a little slower and soaking in the views.
Sometimes I have to remind myself to do this. The DIY projects, gardening and house renovations can all wait a day…
or two…
Instead it is important to savor special moments. Small moments that make life worth living. Laughing over simmering stews or enjoying a glass of wine with my husband. Baking together or trying local chowders at the Fall for Scituate festival.
Even though life is so very busy I’m trying to savor every moment. My children are growing up so quickly. I can’t believe my baby – Conor – is already four.
Conor and I raked the front yard the other day and it was so fun.
He kept saying, “Daddy is going to be so proud of us” and then would jump in the leaves. I forgot how much I loved doing this as a little one. I wish you could hear his belly laugh.
It was contagious. Happy October, my friends! Hope you’re taking time to enjoy this beautiful season.
October is also my favorite month! Isn’t fall wonderful? 🙂
It is wonderful and beautiful and all this coziness is just what my family needs right now. Happy October to you! Hope you’re family is enjoying your favorite month.

You make me miss living by the water! And having a yard to rake! We are buying a house soon so that will come all too soon! Have a great weekend!
