Simple Flower Inspired Summer Tablescape
Create a simple flower inspired tablescape to celebrate summer. Gather branches, fragrant lilacs, and feathery tulips for a dreamy centerpiece.
We actually lucked out with the weather on Saturday. Here in New England we’ve had 42 days of rain this spring. It’s been very soggy here in Scituate. We were hosting a bon voyage party for friends so pulled all our outdoor furniture out (finally) and I thought it would be fun to create a floral centerpiece for the party.
I’m excited to share this post as part of my good friend Alicia’s Summer Tablescape Hop. There’s 19 tablescapes in all (see the bottom of my post to visit all of them).
I clipped some lilacs and other branches from our yard (including mock orange, wild roses, privet, choke cherry, and some I don’t even know the names of). I had these stunning tulips from my flower share at Cross Street Flower Farm and used some of the tips I learned from Millie over at Whitemoss and Twig.
I created a wire ball to insert stems into. You can see all the tips and tricks in the post I shared last week, here.
I played with the arrangement on our deck and stored them inside in cool space until the party.
Isn’t it amazing the beauty you have in your own back yard?
Since I wanted the beautiful centerpiece to be the star of the table I kept the other elements quite simple.
The table and chairs are from Ikea and you can see more about them in our pool reveal last summer. The white plates are from Ikea, as well. They’re our daily dishes. The hand blown vessels make lovely glasses, hammered silverware from Birch Lane and linen napkins complete the tablescape. I can’t remember when the linen napkins are from.
My little guy (who you can see in the background) was a big help setting up the table and skimming the pool.
So there you have it a simple flower infused tablescape by the pool. This taste of sunshine has us longing for summer.
I hope this gave you some fun ideas for a simple tablescape and using some the plants you have growing in your garden and backyard.
Be sure to visit all my friends taking part in the summer tablescape hop.

Very pretty flowers. About time we had a nice weekend in the Northeast. The rain gets to me. We had terrible storms last night though.

Cindy, it was so HOT today. 88 degrees. I’m not gonna complain but the dogs were dragging. Kind of too hot too fast, but I’ll take any sunshine. I agree, I do better with sunshine, too.
Such a beautiful setting, Danielle! I absolutely love your flower arrangement. It looks like the perfect spot to spend the summer!
Thank you! It was fun to pull these flowers together for a gathering with friends. Yes, we’re really looking forward to long, lazy summer days right here 😉
What a gorgeous flower arrangement! The fact that it’s by the pool makes it even prettier. 😉
I was so happy the weather cooperated on Saturday. We’ve had 43 days of rain here. xx
Your flower arrangement is beautiful and love your table. So glad you had nice weather for your day.
Thank you, Marlene, I figured we’d all be inside and it would be cramped but the kids were running around the yard playing while we enjoyed apps and drinks out by the pool. It was lovely.
absoltutely gorgeous!
Thank you, Ashley xx
