Singing in the Rain (Shower)
“I’m singin’ in the rain, just singin’ in the rain. What a glorious feeling, I’m happy again.”
Ah, Singing in the Rain, is such a classic movie, don’t you think?!? I could watch it again and again and never tire of it. The new shower head that Waterpik sent me to try out reminds me of singing in the rain.
Utter happiness.
You may not know this about me but I’m a real shower girl. I love my showers. I love them long and very hot. It seems the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree because John has been known to spend a long time in the shower too.
Anyway, I only realized how much I love showers when we lived in London and didn’t have a shower in our flat. Oh, man, I wanted to cut my long hair short because of that little tub in the pea soup colored bathroom of our rental flat. One whole year of trying to wash my hair in the tub.
I haven’t really shared much of our bathroom with you except when we first moved in. I did show one picture in our home tour recapping the last two years in this home click here if you missed it. The previous owners did such a nice job redoing it.
I guess it is important to note this is are only full bathroom. We share this space with our two little boys, but it is probably the nicest bathroom we’ve ever had. It has plenty of storage, great lighting, pretty tile and a lovely transom window into the shower. All makes for a lovely spa like appeal.
I’ve only added small touches here and there.
A shabby chic shower curtain:
Sea glass and shells.
This sweet mug from England that Luke uses for shaving:
We’ve replaced a few knobs in the bathroom with some from D. Lawless. I still need to replace this pull.
Luke replaced the shower head the other night and it didn’t take him more than a few minutes:
It even came with the plumbing tape.
The Sidewinder has six custom spray settings AND three easy to adjust heights. Perfect for Luke, me and the boys!
The color also goes so nicely with the other fixtures in the bathroom from the faucets on the vanity:
To the hooks:
This fall I plan on making some more improvements to the space. I love the wall color and all the tile, but the vanity is gold. I’m not sure if you can tell that from the photos.
Metallic gold. I plan on painting this a beautiful blue with tan underneath (showing some distressing). You know me and blue, right? I have my eye on a few fun knobs – some made of shell and some from quartz. I haven’t quite decided yet.
Until then, I’ll be thoroughly enjoying the shower and singing in the rain!
Pretty bathroom. Don’t take this personally but I loved the cabinet until you mentioned it’s metallic gold. I can see why you plan to paint
Cindy
Pretty bathroom! I love the faucets – I’ve been looking for something similar and no luck. Do you know who makes them?
