Spring has Sprung: My Mantel

It has been so gorgeous here in Scituate.  We’ve had some unseasonably warm days and all this sunshine has gone to my head!  All the daffs, tullips and crocuses are beginning to pop up!

With this in mind, my spring mantel is celebrating nature.  I really love using fresh flowers and greenery.  It is so lovely to bring nature inside.

I absolutely love forsythia!

I love how it’s twig like branches twist and turn and bring a wild element into the mix.  Organic, natural and beautiful.  Also, love the pops of yellow in the delicate flowers.

I picked up the greenery and forsythia at the local super market – for bargain prices.  I had extra left so filled a vase of shells with more branches near my desk:

My little bird nests were a great find on WUSLU.  That site is incredible.  It was a Miss Mustard Seed pick and for a really reasonable price I got 6 nests (all different and unique) filled with real quail eggs that had been preserved.

I just think they are absolutely beautiful and remind me of all the birds that will be welcoming new little ones this spring.

I already had most of the elements.  I had the pewter candle holders (a great Salvage Chic find), the candles with the bees were a gift from a dear friend.  I love them so much that I’ve never lit them.

The tea light holders came from Crate & Barrel a couple of years ago.

The fabric scrap garland with unbleached muslin and pink and yellows that remind me of garden party cakes was made by me and is available in my Etsy shop.

What do you think?  Would love to hear!

Danielle, I miss the forsythia and lilacs blooming each spring, as living in the desert southwest, we don’t have those two bushes here. Thanks for sharing your spring mantel, and I am so happy to have found your blog. I am a new follower. If you have the time come see my Easter decorations. I seem to be ready for spring also.

Oops, Danielle, that is me above in the comment that says Michele and Todd. I forgot to sign into my “Something Special” blog and stayed in my family blog. That is not the blog which has the Easter decorations posted. One is my Creative Vintage blog and the other is my family blog. I have two different emails for them. Sorry. Don’t want you to be completely confused or think I am nuts! Have a great week!
