Studio Tour
Hello, dear reader, I thought I’d share some behind the scenes photos and a little studio tour with you today!
If you follow along with me on social media then you maybe saw I gave this space a bit of refresh. Back in 2019 I painted the floors bright white and it really made the space even brighter. I LOVE white floors! If you’d like some tips you can read all about painting your floors here. They stood up really well over the last 5 years but it was time to freshen things up.
While everything was out of the space I also painted the base of the table. I shared more about this old table here and more about the top. This table is really oversized for this room and I was going to replace it with another table, BUT I love painting here and John (when he’s home) paints out here so I decided to keep it. The table top has marks on it from paint and our water jugs. It’s perfectly imperfect and we feel happy to tape watercolor paper to the table and create here.

Above you can see the newly painted floor and the refreshed table. I went with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Duck Egg Blue on the base and used a Matt Top Coat by Annie Sloan to seal it. Previously the table was painted in a custom color a mix of Provence and Old White but I just wanted a little change and I love this more muted blue for the space.
Refreshed Studio
This is how the space looks when in use at my studio – tubes of watercolors, original paintings strewn across the table, and sometimes I have some products out here too. I love using the white pine floor in photos.
Max, my little shadow, is never too far behind.
Our vintage Cornishware makes for a lovely vase for pretty hydrangeas and ferns.
The pendant light is from Flemmings in Cohasset, but here’s a link to something similar if you don’t live locally.
We usually have a cozy white couch against the wall out here but I moved it into the pool house whilst we were painting and haven’t moved it back yet.
On the other side of the room is the most comforatable chair from Ikea. The Poang! This chair is really so comfy. I love getting up early on the weekends and reading right here. Max will always snuggle in my lap. Whilst I’m painting he’ll either sit on the pouf or the chair with his head on the arm. It’s so cute.
I love how the rattan table has an island / coastal vibe and the Pony Tail Palm was in impulse by from Trader Joe’s. I can never resist their plants!
Behind the Scenes
I often have my camera equipment out in here. I’m usually taking photos of items for our online shop.
This room leads to our back door and onto our patio. You can see more about our back patio here.
I love creating out here because the light is gorgeous and I have such a lovely view of our yard and the pool.
I often having music playing and a candle lit and love painting barefoot in sweatpants or jeans.
Sneak Peek
Here’s a sneak peek at our newest collection – the Oh Baby! Collection will be launching online next week, but I’ll have a sneak peek tonight at Joye! I will be painting at Joye in Scituate Harbor from 5-8pm as part of the Scituate Harbor Art Walk and I’m also bringing these cards and some new Christmas products. I hope you can stop by if you’re around!
I hope you enjoyed this little tour of my sunroom / studio! It is a wonderful place to create and cuddle with Max!
