Talia Wine Table (Before & After)
Talia just got a makeover for my upcoming open studio and yellow is certainly her color. MMS Milk Paint Mustard Seed yellow that is! Before she was dull, dull, dull…
Yup, the before. Nothing wrong with her all wood, but doesn’t she look like she could enjoy a glass of wine with you now?!?
She reminds me of the beautiful countryside of Tuscany that I was lucky enough to enjoy with my family a few years ago.
The brilliant gold hues of buildings in the small village we stayed in, rolling hills, and delicious wine – such a beautiful place. Now that she’s painted the wood top gleams and the rustic pulls really make a statement, while before they were a bit lost in all that wood:
I used two coats of MMS Milk Paint in Mustard Seed with no bonding agent. I wanted this piece to chip and flake and it did just that. I always feel like it is Christmas when working with milk paint – that element of surprise in the morning. I love when the paint decides to self-distress.
I helped it along with some sand paper and a sanding block and then sealed with MMS Milk Paint Clear Wax. I adore how she came out. I think she looks like she was always yellow. Talia is perfect for an open plan room or a rustic dining room. She’ll be available at my upcoming Open Studio this Saturday:
But before that, we have Halloween in the Harbor and my boys are pretty excited for that (I am too!).
What do you think of Talia’s new color?!?
looks awesome! love the chippy yellow!
I absolutely love the color and all her chippy goodness!

Love the transformation! The MMS Yellow feels like such a warm rustic color with the touches of the wood showing through.
adorable in mustard see yellow! so many colors, so little time…
LOVE this piece, so talented!!! I am a little afraid to try the milk paint. I am so used to chalk paint, I am afraid I won’t be able to get the chippy look I want. I have to wait to go to the new house so I guess I have time to think about it, LOL!

I heart this! In fact its not only one of my picks for Give Me The Goods, but I just went and bought yellow paint so I can have some yellow in my home too!!
