The Happiness of Christmas Lights
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest times, if only one remembers to turn on the lights.”
From Harry Potter by JK Rowling
There’s something so magical about Christmas lights at night. Their light dances on the walls and bathes the room in a happy glow. The happiness of Christmas lights is real and I’m delighted to share them with you in my own home. You’ve already seen the full house as part of the Country Living Tour click here and a closer look at our living room click here, but I’ve never shared a view a night.
My friend Rachel over at Maison de Pax came up with a lovely idea of 25 bloggers sharing their Christmas lights and you can follow along with the hashtag #ChristmasNightsTour.
Are you ready to see the magical lights in our home? I actually was a little nervous as I haven’t really done night time photography. So hopefully these look okay.
Here’s our living room:
Conor was so happy about decorating the tree and putting the star on top.
The german glitter stars really sparkle at night:
Across from the tree and I’ve added some little lights I found at HomeGoods for $7. They are battery powered and so magical.
Our coffee table is aglow with tea lights and more fairy lights:
Shall we move into the dining room? The lights are so pretty in there too.
This holly free printable is illuminated by a mercury glass tea light:
The chippy armoire has little tea lights on it too. I love how the vintage mirror shines in the light.
I’m so pleased having a Christmas tree in here this year. I leave the lights on all day on both trees but they’re even prettier at night.
This tree celebrates the coast. with starfish:

a nautical garland and ribbons the color of the sea:
You can see the silhouettes of the boys I created last year. Click here.
White Christmas lights are my favorite. In England they call them fairy lights and I love that.
Oh, and the table. I cleared away the runner and shells and just put a cloche over faux boxwood and added more of those lights from HomeGoods. So simple and magical!
