Three Kitchen Design Ideas
Gorgeous farmhouse sinks, beautiful handmade tiles, shiny new ovens. I’ve been daydreaming over here and can’t wait to share three kitchen design ideas.
This shelter-in-place order has me daydreaming about design. I know many of you enjoy our kitchen “as is”, but one day I dream of having a large island and a beautiful farmhouse sink.
Here’s our kitchen if you’re new around here:
This post is sponsored by BLANCO All thoughts and opinions are my own. I’ve also included a few affiliate links in this post.
My friends at BLANCO reached out and asked if I’d like to come up with a few ideas using their new sink, the IKON® 33″ 1-3/4 Farmhouse Sink with low divide which is made out of SILGRANIT®. I jumped at the chance! Have you guys seen howe beautiful these sinks are?
They have the classic farmhouse look but with a modern edge. Before I share my fun ideas I wanted to share a bit more about this new sink design and why it’s essential for the kitchen.
BLANCO IKON® 33″ 1 3/4 Farmhouse Sink
- designed to make cooking, cleaning, and prep easier for everyone in the family.
- Sink’s convenient low divide sits just 5 1/2″ from the sink bottom making it easier to handle large pots and baking sheets while still having an area devoted to cleaning and prepping.
- The design of the sink minimizes the need to lean over as much and reduces strain.
- The IKON® has optional floating accessories, like a cutting board or wire rack to enable for easier kitchen prep and reduce straining when lifting heavy pots.
- Comes in a range of beautiful colors, 8 in all, so you’re sure to find just the right one for your kitchen design.
- SILGRANIT® is a composite material made of 80% natural granite: Patented, scratch resistant and easy to clean material with repellent nonporous surface – does not require use of any harsh chemicals. Includes Hygienic+Plus surface protection formula against bacteria
- The sink is heat resistant up to 536° F.
You can see the low divide above along with some of the accessories for the sink.
Alright let’s chat design and daydream a little bit. I’ve designed three kitchens using the IKON® as a jumping off point.
Classic Kitchen with White and Brass
This kitchen incorporates a beautiful blue hue in the cabinet color but a classic white farmhouse sink that is timeless. The brass pendant, white slipcovered chairs, and handmade Zellige tiles are timeless in their appeal. I’ve mixed and matched elegant high-end materials along with budget pieces. The oven is made in France by LaCanche and is my dream oven.

Coastal Navy Kitchen
This kitchen uses the neutral Concrete Gray IKON® sink as a jumping off point. The color is found repeated in the console table, the bar stools, the beaded pendant while this taupe color goes so well with the bold blues of Indigo and Navy. Simple marble hex would be the backsplash. This is laid back style on the coast.

Modern Loft Kitchen
This look is so different than my current home but part of me loves this dark, moody style. I thought it would be fun to try out the Anthracite IKON® sink. That deep black is so luxurious and gorgeous. I paired it with a more modern range by LaCanche, a black industrial faucet and gorgeous tile backsplash. I picture this loft having old exposed brick and played up the industrial elements in bar stools, open shelving and lighting. There’s almost a French element to this design.

I hope this gave you a few ideas for your own kitchen and I hope you’ll think of the IKON® sink if you’re doing your kitchen over. I know I’d love one for our kitchen once we do our’s over. What color would you go with for your own home? What design did you enjoy the most of the mood boards? Can’t wait to hear! A big thank you to BLANCO for helping me daydream with you all!
