Traditional Autumn Front Porch
Create a traditional autumn front porch with fresh cut cornstalks and orange pumpkins.
“Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.”
Emily Bronte
We’re super excited to share our traditional front porch with you all this year! I couldn’t resist using cornstalks, which I’ve used for the last three seasons. I love how they flank our front door and make the beautiful Buxton Blue paint a focal point along with my vintage whale knocker. If you’re local, I get my cornstalks at Lamberts in Pembroke – they always have really tall green ones.
I have to share this sweet door mat with you guys. I found it at Elburne.
Isn’t it perfect?
We love our sweet doggies here. Max and Poppy are always ready to welcome guests. 😉
This year I decided to embrace orange pumpkins! Yup. I usually love the muted heirloom and white ones but this year I felt like I need traditional orange.
They’re was something just so happy about this curling stem:
I added a few more by our planters:
My planters have grown like crazy since the beginning of summer!
I also couldn’t resist this giant ornamental kale that I placed in a vintage galvanized bucket.
What do you think of our traditional fall front porch? We’re really getting excited for Halloween – it’s our favorite holiday! I don’t think I’ll have the boys trick or treat this year but we’re still making costumes and plan on decorating the house (inside and out).
I’m sharing our traditional front porch as part of my friend Krista’s Seasonal Simplicity Tour. Be sure to visit all my friends below for more outdoor fall decor!
And today I’ve joined some of my talented blogging friends who are also sharing their outdoor spaces decked out for fall. You can hop around and check out their posts by clicking on the links below their image.

Thank you, Laura xx
Your porch looks pretty. We use flowering kale every year. Mums don’t last for us and kale makes it through Thanksgiving.
