Unleash Your Inner Artist

I believe we are all creative. Do you remember how you used to love to draw with crayons or paint with finger paints? Do you remember a time where you got lost in creating and it made your heart sing? If it’s been a while that’s completely okay. I feel like something happens as we get older. For some reason we disconnect with that creative spark. I have a way to remedy that and to unleash your inner artist!

I try to share creative projects on the blog as much as possible – easy recipes, fun DIYs, painted furniture, and watercolor tutorials. When I started the blog I didn’t know the creative gifts I had inside of me. If this is resonating with you, there are hidden talents you have and they’re just waiting to come out to play. It was only through starting Finding Silver Pennies 13 years ago that I became curious about so many things like photography, styling, and yes, watercolor. I am so happy that I started this little blog.

Introducing New Creative Supplies

In the fall I began teaching watercolor workshops at Noted. in Hingham and I’m really enjoying it. It has been so fun to share what I’ve learned over the last 10 years that I wanted to be able to share more with people who don’t necessarily live locally.

Many of you know that I’m a self-trained artist. I didn’t go to art school and I only first picked up a paint brush 10 years ago when Conor started kindergarten. At that very first class I went to, I was so nervous. I picked up some cheap supplies and they were all wrong – the bristles were falling out into my painting and the paper wasn’t very good. I felt my face getting hot and tears welling up in my eyes. What a bad start! I wouldn’t want anyone else who is curious about watercolor or wanting to start being more creative to feel this way. That’s why I set out to create some fun new watercolor kits and paintbrush sets.

Our New Watercolor Paintbrushes

You all know I LOVE blue and white! So I, of course, had to incorporate that color theme into my paintbrush line! These are the paintbrushes I use for my own paintings and I’m so excited I can share them with you!

An artist must care for their supplies and I’m delighted to round out this offering with my favorite brush soap. I use The Masters Brush Cleaner and Preserver to care for my own brushes.
