Wisteria and Lilac Tablescape

The wisteria is in full bloom on our back deck. So I thought I’d share a wisteria and lilac tablescape to celebrate.

I also thought this would be the perfect space to share for our monthly Cozy Living posts hosted by my good friend Jennifer.

I love every part of our yard but I always feel such gratitude out here amongst the heavenly blooms. I wish you guys could smell them through the screen.

The wisteria always blooms around May 25th. It was in full bloom when we moved into our home 6 years ago and I’ll always remember sitting under this canopy with my parents eating sub sandwiches.

I always feel like I’m witnessing a gift from heaven. Seeing the delicate petals and all the bees attracted to them.

This week has been so wet, I took these photos at 7am Monday morning. I knew I needed to capture the beauty to share with you.

The rain makes the petals fall off and I wanted to capture them in all their glory.

Aren’t they pretty!

Our wisteria blooms every year around this time, but we’ve found every other year that the blooms are more prolific. This is that year!

This is my favorite place to sit when the sun is shining.

Inspired by the purple wisteria, I created a floral centerpiece using branches and blooms from our yard.

The arrangement has the following flowers:

Lilac | Choke Cherry Branches | Blue False Indigo

I have a funny story about the Blue False Indigo. Our old friend and neighbor, Maryann, gave us this plant when we moved in and it LOVES our yard. Last year with all the pool work I thought the plant wouldn’t come back. The area got hard packed with all the heavy equipment but it pushed through the hard ground. This year it’s thriving again. Phew.

The petals are so delicate and I LOVE the saturated blue purple.

My oldest picked out this petite daisy and he also found the driftwood on the beach.

Flowers, and seeing them blooming, in our yard makes my heart so happy. There’s nothing like the joy flowers bring!

So much beauty in the every day when you slow down and take time to notice it.

My mom stayed over and this is her hat. I couldn’t resist photographing it as part of the tablescape 😉

My husband built the table and bench. You can see the tutorials here and here. I still need to drag the outdoor rug up from the basement. It’s just been so wet that I haven’t done it yet. I often get questions about sources and I’ll link to them below (these are affiliate links).

its all so lovely. My wisteria has become so evasive and I can’t get rid of it no matter what we do so I decided to embrace it and build a small structure for it to grow on. have a great summer in that beautiful backyard.
