Wood Watches and Coastal Style
I partnered with JORD wood watches on this post and this post contains a few affiliate links.
“The value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count. Moments are bigger than minutes and your watch should tell more than time.” – JORD watches
Last week on Instagram I shared the JORD wood watch that arrived in the mail. Can we say I’m a tiny bit excited about it? JORD actually sent me two watches one for me and one for Luke. What can I say? I like to match my hubby but I can never borrow his clothes ‘cuz he’s just so much taller than me. The next best thing is wooden watches!
Are you familiar with JORD? JORD is run by artists, designers, and marketers. Like me, they spend their days creating and they believe that life is truly a journey and we shouldn’t be merely passengers.
If you’ve been reading for a while then you know our style here by the coast is very easy going, both how we decorate our home and what we wear. We like to be comfy. We like our time and life to be relaxed and enjoy spending time outdoors. You all know just how much we love wood from the weathered shingles on our home to the dark woodwork in our home’s interior. Luke loves building furniture and I love restoring it. The watch that spoke to us the most was the Fieldcrest:
The Fieldcrest is unisex and we chose the sandalwood with black face. I love how is both elegant and relaxed. The perfect watch to throw on for a day out with the kids or a date night at our favorite restaurant by the sea or in Boston. This watch goes with everything – black cashmere sweaters, yoga pants and my favorite pair of jeans.
The weather here in Scituate has been quite amazing. Honestly, it feels more like spring than summer. Our favorite thing to do as a family is explore our neighboring beaches. On Sunday we enjoyed the most delicious brunch and then took Poppy for walk along the harbor.
The warm sun felt so amazing after so many cold days.
There was so much to explore on Museum Beach.
Climbing the rocks and enjoying the views.
Watching the sea gulls gracefully swoop above our heads.
We found so many great pieces of sea glass and also a few pretty shells.
It felt so wonderful to just be outside and smell the salt air.
I treasure these moments on the beach with my guys and Poppy. They really make me long for weekends to come even sooner.
I’m hoping we get a few more winter days like this (with no snow). We spent a few hours here and really relaxed and played.
Our new watches were so comfortable paired with our peacoat and waxed jacket. I wasn’t sure how the wood would feel but it is so light and comfortable. It almost doesn’t feel like I have a watch on if that makes sense. The sandalwood is handfinished and treated with tung oils. The movement of this watch is by Citizen and it has quartz crystal. We told Conor that our watches had quartz crystal in them and he thought he should collect the quartz from the beach, just in case we needed more.
How cute is that?
He wanted to fill his pockets with these stones and got mad when we said he’d have to leave them for the sea.
These watches make great gifts! They come in a beautiful box with a cloth for cleaning. If you’re looking for a lovely Valentine’s gift look no further. They also make lovely birthday, anniversary or a “just because I love you” gift.
JORD is offering my readers limited e-gifts cards, $20 off any watch. If your interested in claiming your e-gift card just click here.
What do you think of our new watches?
Hi Danielle! Any time I see my favorite lighthouse brings a smile to my face and fills my heart with memories. Believe it or not I never heard of museum beach but from the pictures it looks like it is Jericho Rd. We only went to Sand Hills beach and very occasionally Pegotty Beach. My cousins and I walked to the harbor many times so we walked past museum beach if that is where it is. Hope you have a nice mild winter and nothing like last years records snowfall!
I saw Cassie’s Jord watch and I have to say they are stunning! I’m paticularly smitten with the Cora (Koa and Rose Gold) and the Sidney (Maple and Rose Gold). Either one would be perfect for business functions as they match my new brand name!!! Adding them to my wish list now!
CAN’T STOP LOOKING! haha. I think I’ve decided I’m equally obsessed with the Purpleheart colored watches and the Frankie series. Gorgeous!
